The theme for this blog hop is favorite recipes and I wanted to share my favorite sweet recipe! Caramel Brownies

Caramel Brownies

Ingredients:

1 box of Devil’s Food Cake Chocolate Cake Mix

1/2 c Margarine

2/3 c Sweetened Condensed Milk (divided)

16 oz Soft Caramel Candies (approx. 32 – unwrapped)

1 c Chocolate Chips

Caramel Brownies 1

Step 1

Step 1: Melt the margarine and mix it with 1/3 c milk and the dry cake mix. It will make a thick crumbly dough, divide the dough in half.

Step 2: My four year old loves to help with this part!

Step 2: Press half of the dough in a 9×13 cake pan, pressing it into the bottom and up the sides one inch to form a lip that will hold the melted caramel in. Bake this crust for 9 minutes @ 350f.

Step 3

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the crust from the oven, and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Bake it for 1 minute or until the chocolate chips are semi-melted.

Step 4

Step 4

Step 4: Melt the caramels with the remaining 1/3 c of milk in the microwave until blended smoothly. Then pour over the crust/chocolate chips.

Step 5: Crumble the other half of the dough over the top of the caramel. There will be caramel showing through. Bake the whole thing for 13-15 minutes more. Allow them to cool completely before cutting.

These have become a family favorite in my house, but be sure to cut them small because they are really rich! They are also great warmed up in the microwave later, and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup!  🙂

Now that we have our dessert prepared, let me help you find a great book to read! My newest release, Weekend Surrender, is the perfect hot story for an evening of winter time reading.  Check it out…

1 - Weekend Surrender

In book one of The Surrender Trilogy: After another painful betrayal and break up, Rachael Morgan sets out to prove to herself that she can handle a good time with a man and walk away sexually satisfied and with her heart intact.  She could have never imagined that she would be agreeing to the proposition of a lifetime.  Every woman in Stone River, Texas would jump at this chance, but she’s afraid she’ll leave pieces of her heart behind.

Raised on their family ranch the four Brooks brothers have always shared everything.  Even women.  When they find themselves face to face with the one person who could complete them all, they set out on a journey to claim her for their own.

Fate can place them all in the right place at the right time, but will Rachel be able to overcome her relationship scars, or is she destined to live her life alone believing that no man ever stays?

Warning: Sexually explicit content M/F/M/M/M

Weekend Surrender is available at all major ebook retailers! And look for the next story in the trilogy, Flawless Surrender in 2014!

As always, Live, Laugh and Love like today is your only chance!~Lori
